Patient no-shows continue to be one of the most difficult challenges faced by healthcare providers. While the financial loss is significant (one study estimates that no-shows cost US & Canadian healthcare providers more than $1.5 billion annually), the most devastating impact is on patient care.  When a patient fails to show up for their appointment, they miss the opportunity to receive the care they need.  But the impact doesn’t stop there.  With waitlists growing longer each day, empty appointment slots mean the patients languishing on long waitlists miss that same opportunity for care.  Unused appointments affect the entire healthcare spectrum, including the provider, the no-show patient themselves and those other patients desperately waiting to be seen but can’t get in.
